Prepare to be blown away- It’s ‘Tropical Fuck Storm’
TFS have dropped a new album Braindrops, and chose the Byron Bay Brewery to launch the album and start the Aussie tour. This band in my opinion are a supergroup: featuring Drones partners Gareth Liddiard and Fiona Kitschin along with Harmony, Mod Con and Palm Springs multi-instrumentalist Erica Dunn and "High Tension" drummer Lauren Hammel.
They are supported by Melbourne’s ‘Pinch Points’ and Tasmanian trio ‘All The Weathers’.
All The Weathers kicked off the night. A fun, eclectic trio that swapped instruments with seamless precision.
Pinch Points let us know the future of punk is in good hands; this is a band to watch. With catchy cause driven lyrics, infections riffs and boundless energy.
TFS are a force of nature, full of menace and emotion. There is a lot going on here, with snarling voices, grinding guitars & screeching yet it’s cohesive and delivers a direct message. You can feel the connective energy between the band members that make their live performance powerful. It was a night of high energy, a head banging psychedelic prog rock performance art and the crowd loved it.
