Northern Byron Bay Thursday 29th April 2021

The Chats hit the brakes on the tour van and slid into Byron Bay on the last night on the ACDC Cd tour.

The Aussie pub rock spirit lives on with The Chats who played to a limited but energised crowd at the Northern Hotel Byron Bay.  After so many stops & starts in 2020/2021 this was the last gig on the ACDC Cd tour, and we can dance!

Bouncing on stage to The Melvin’s I Fuck Around.. there’s no doubt we were in for a great night.  They play at such a frenetic pace and their music is down to earth, no bullshit, just fun.  The Chats ; Eamon Sandwith, Josh Hardy (guitarist) and drummer Matt Boggis opened with Nambored.  “We’re from Nambour, so who likes Nambour… Yeah Nah.  It was full throttle through the whole set.  It didn’t take the crowd long to get moshing, it was a smaller but energetic dance floor, it’s been a long while since I’ve seen a mosh pit, and I bought a smile to my face.  There was a quick poll to see how many the audience had Ross River Fever before launching into the song “Ross River” and the Aussie pub anthems kept coming.

They have accumulated some rippers songs with the end of the set nearing they pulled out the big guns with Smoko and Pub Feed which send the crowd in to hyperdrive.

Thanks dudes, that was bloody fun.
